PlaxFlow V1.5 PLAXIS PlaxFlow Update Version 1.5 exe | 16642 kb | PlaxFlow1.5Update.exe | 27-02-2007This update can be used for PlaxFlow Version 1 and all its Update Packs. All changes made in previous Update Packs have been incorporated in PlaxFlow Version 1.5.
This Update Pack is a self-extracting and installing package. After downloading, please run it and follow instructions.
Bug fixes
In PlaxFlow Version 1.5, the following major improvements have been made:
Version 8 integration- With the release of Plaxis Version 8.5, the coupled calculation of transient groundwater flow and deformation analyses has been restored:
- Problems occuring when phases in Version 8 were inserted or deleted are now solved. When phases containing transient water condition info were deleted, this transient groundwater flow information was not deleted from the project. This caused errors when loading phases of the same project in PlaxFlow. Similiar problems occurred when inserting phases.
- Discharge values of wells were not correctly read from Version 8 into PlaxFlow and vice versa.
Known issueThere are some problems with the discharge of wells in combination with very small numerical values of the permeability of the soil (k < 10^-3). It is therefore recommended to use ?day? as unit for time instead of ?s? (sec) as this will increase the numerical value of the permeability.
Project compatibility- Due to a difference in the handling of files in PlaxFlow Version 1.5, files made with PlaxFlow Version 1.5 cannot be read in earlier versions of PlaxFlow. However, PlaxFlow Version 1.5 can read all projects made in earlier versions.
- Compared to PlaxFlow Version 1.1 Update Pack 3 there have been some modifications in the material parameters, the default values for the calculation settings and the specifications of the time-dependent boundary conditions by tables. Therefore, it is advisable to check the materials in the material database and the settings of each calculation phase, especially when a new mesh is created immediately after opening the project. This is also recommended when a project in Version 8 has been defined by a transient groundwater flow in PlaxFlow Version 1.1 Update Pack 3.
- Due to a difference in the handling of files since Plaxis Version 8.2 Update Pack 6 (this includes Version 8.2 Update Pack 6, 7 and 8, Version 8.3, Version 8.4 and Version 8.5), these versions of Plaxis Version 8 do not interact with PlaxFlow Version 1.1. Users should install PlaxFlow Version 1.5 to have the integration restored. When using the PlaxFlow integration with PLAXIS Version 8, Plaxis recommends the combination of PLAXIS Version 8.5 and PlaxFlow 1.5, or later versions when they are released.
- Projects with wells in transient groundwater conditions from Plaxis Version 8.4 or older require a new mesh and new groundwater flow calculations to compute the correct discharge values.
