After the successful introduction of the new PLAXIS 3D software package in the summer of 2010, we are proud to announce the release of the 2nd major update, PLAXIS 3D 2012. The new PLAXIS 3D 2012 version includes the first new version of the 3D Dynamics module that was launched last year.

A major addition is the total restructuring of the phases explorer including a new phases window giving a better overview of the calculation phases. It includes new icons indicating the calculation type, the loading type as well as the pore pressure calculation type, allowing for easy viewing and editing of the entered parameters.

Capabilities to extrude a polycurve along another polycurve has been added allowing you to create curved tunnels and other complex objects.

Other new features include support for connections (such as hinges or dilation joints), Parallel Processing in the Mesher, and the new Output Model Explorer to match the Input Model Explorer for easy navigation through the results.

Furthermore the Macro Library has been added to create and store macros, and some new commands have been added to make working with PLAXIS 3D even more flexible.
