New Release: PLAXIS 2D 2010.01
March 22, 2011
A new version of PLAXIS 2D 2010 has been released: Version 2010.01 This new versions contains many bug fixes and new features.
Improved features include:
- Improvements in handling of the global material database: possibility of creating a new empty material database and visualisation of the location and name of the active global database.
- PLAXIS 2D now gives direct access to "Instruction movies": the movies are available via the Help menu.
- In the Input Program, drains can be controlled by chain in order to improve the usability of this element. Chain activation, or chain water head definition avoids manual definition for every drain of the chain.
- In order to understand a calculation result better, the calculation result messages in the log info are now more clear and helpful.
- It is now possible to choose the number of intermediate steps to be saved, whereas in the 2010.00 version the user could only choose between all steps or only the last step. This will give the user more options to check the intermediate results while reducing the total amount of data.
- The current kernel performs parallel calculations, improving the calculation speed.
- There is an extra consistency check in case of Consolidation TPP or transient groundwater flow: it is estimated approximately how many steps should at least be specified and provides an appropriate recommendation.
- Hardening-Cap points are now included in the project results visualization in PLAXIS Output
- When elements are found that are too large for unsaturated flow calculations, a warning is now given.
- For Advanced mode's consolidation TPP, the kernel now also checks for a soil body collapse. Due to the absence of arc-length control, another method is used: when the maximum iteration is reached, and deltat < 1E-6 tmin, a collapse is assumed.
- It is now possible to introduce flow boundary conditions on tunnel linings.
