Job description

For our Software Quality team we are looking for a Software engineer - test automation.

At Plaxis we are focused on developing, marketing and supporting the Plaxis finite element software applications for soil and rock analyses. Our software is used all over the world by thousands of engineers faced with challenging construction projects (for example foundations of high rise buildings, tunnels, and dikes). It is our goal to become the vendor of choice of even more customers. To stay on top and to reach even more customers we keep enriching and improving our software every day. We are looking for talented new colleagues who can help us reach that goal.

Each application is developed by a project team consisting of developers, software quality engineers, geotechnical engineers and scientists, which makes for a stimulating and informal working environment. Throughout the entire development process of these geomechanical applications, different software applications for quality assurance are being used to verify and ensure the quality level of the Plaxis 2D and 3D software programs.

You will utilize innovative test technologies to develop a product's testing strategy. The current main quality assurance tool is a tool for GUI Automation and Testing. Your task will be to develop and maintain the automated testing framework (using JavaScript), get input for new testing procedures, collaborate with others to develop new tests and plan new (test automation) development. These quality assurance applications are a vital part in any release process of the Plaxis 2D and 3D software packages.

Knowledge of the Plaxis 2D and/or 3D software packages is not mandatory.

  • Ability to maintain and renew the test frameworks and test cases as and when required
  • Team player: working together with other specialists an professionals inside and outside Plaxis is key for making your task a success.
